Mission Statement for Ventura Yoga Studio

We offer a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment for people of all capabilities and ages, from beginners to the very experienced student looking to deepen their practice. We offer classes in Iyengar Style Yoga and T’ai Chi Chih®, a moving meditation originated by Justin Stone. We preserve, embrace and share these practices that activate, circulate and balance the vital force energy (Prana or Chi) for the promotion of health, well-being and joy. Both practices can bring improved balance, longevity and serenity, providing the opportunity for inner peace and tranquility.  For more, see the About Us page.

In Memoriam

bks iyengar

B.K. S. Iyengar  •  December 14, 1918 - August 20, 2014

I always tell people, "Live happily and die majestically."

"Yoga is the music of the body, mind and soul, because these three are all in unison. Yoga is the music of the soul. So continue, and the gates of the soul will open."

"Each asana (pose) has a beautiful shape that bestows power and makes the practitioner as strong as a diamond and, at the same time, as soft as a flower."

"Love, labor, laugh."
